Der Stößel B6-01-0962 mit 22,46 mm Durchmesser überträgt im BMW-600-Motor die Nockenwellenbewegung auf die Stößelstange und damit auf die Ventile, wodurch die Ventilsteuerzeiten exakt eingehalten werden. Bei der Restauration sollten Stößel immer auf Verschleiß an der Lauffläche und auf korrektes Spiel in der Führung geprüft und bei Einlaufspuren oder Maßabweichungen konsequent ersetzt werden.
