Der Stößel im Grundmaß für den BMW 600 Motor (Art.-Nr. B6-01-096, auch B7-02-049) überträgt die Nockenbewegung auf den weiteren Ventiltrieb und ist damit ein wesentliches Verschleißteil bei der Motorrevision. Im Rahmen einer Restauration sollten eingelaufene oder angegriffene Stößel grundsätzlich ersetzt und in Kombination mit einer geprüften oder erneuerten Nockenwelle eingesetzt werden. So wird ein gleichmäßiger Einlauf des Ventiltriebs und ein ruhiger, verschleißarmer Motorlauf beim BMW 600 erreicht.
