The standard-size tappet for the BMW 600 engine (Part No. B6-01-096, also B7-02-049) transmits the cam movement to the rest of the valve train and is therefore an essential wear part during engine overhaul. As part of a restoration, worn or damaged tappets should always be replaced and installed in combination with a tested or reconditioned camshaft. This ensures smooth running-in of the valve train and quiet, low-wear engine operation in the BMW 600.
