The B6-01-047 oil pan gasket made of cork (also B7-01-036) reliably seals the joint between the engine block and the oil pan on the BMW 600. During an engine overhaul or restoration, the old gasket should always be replaced, and the sealing surfaces should be carefully cleaned and inspected. A correctly installed cork gasket prevents oil leaks and contributes significantly to a clean, dry engine.
