This sheet metal panel under the rear seat bench (Part No. B6-07-19026) is part of the load-bearing floor structure of the BMW 600 and serves to support the rear seat bench as well as to separate the interior from the underbody. During restoration, corroded areas are typically cut out, the sheet metal is repaired or used as a template for new fabrications, and then preserved with rust protection and underbody coating. Precise alignment is essential to restore seat mountings and body rigidity true to the original.
