The sprocket (Part No. 1-0991) for the timing shaft of the BMW Isetta engine transmits the motion of the timing chain and is precisely secured to the shaft via four holes (2x 14 mm, 1x 12 mm, 1x 5 mm). During an engine overhaul, it is recommended to replace a worn sprocket to prevent timing chain rattling and inaccurate timing. The hole pattern shown in the image is crucial for proper installation and thus for the reliable operation of the restored engine.
