Im Rahmen einer Restauration sollte das gebrauchte Teil auf Verformungen, Korrosion und Durchrostungen geprüft und bei Bedarf gerichtet oder instand gesetzt werden. Nur eine intakte Blechkappe gewährleistet eine saubere Führung und lange Lebensdauer des neu verbauten Wellendichtrings.
