Der Kolben SM-04860 dient in der BMW Isetta Standard 250 ccm und den BMW R24/R25-Modellen zur Erzeugung der Kompression und zur Kraftübertragung auf die Kurbelwelle. Bei der Motorüberholung sollten Laufbild, Ringnuten und Bolzenbohrung sorgfältig geprüft und das Kolbenspiel zum vorhandenen Zylinder exakt gemessen werden. Da es sich um ein gebrauchtes Teil teils ohne Kolbenbolzen und Kolbenringe handelt, sind passende Neuteile und eine gründliche Reinigung vor dem Einbau unerlässlich.
