Die Kalotte B7-20-0180 im Reflektor des BMW 700 dient als Abschirmkörper und formt gemeinsam mit dem Reflektor das Lichtbild des Scheinwerfers. Bei der Restauration ist auf Verzug, Korrosion und festen Sitz zu achten, da eine beschädigte oder falsch positionierte Kalotte zu Blendung und ungleichmäßiger Ausleuchtung führen kann. Eine intakte, korrekt montierte Kalotte ist daher für ein originales und verkehrssicheres Scheinwerferbild im Oldtimer unerlässlich.
