The piston pin 1-0547 (D 20 mm, L 59.9 mm) connects the piston and connecting rod in the BMW Isetta engine and, due to its greater length, distributes the bearing forces over a larger surface area. During a motor restoration, a worn or thermally damaged piston pin should always be replaced with a dimensionally accurate new part to prevent piston tilting and consequential damage. This component plays a crucial role in the smooth running and durability of the restored BMW Isetta engine.
