The shaft seal for the wheel hub (Part No. B7-06-0691, also B6-04-061) seals the wheel bearing on the BMW 700 against grease leakage and moisture ingress. Aged or damaged seals are a common cause of premature bearing failure and contaminated brakes in classic cars. Replacing it during restoration restores proper lubrication and sealing of the wheel hubs and significantly increases operational reliability.
