Die Kupplung B7-02-0890 mit 160 mm Durchmesser für den BMW 700 Motor überträgt das Motordrehmoment auf das Getriebe und trennt bei Betätigung den Kraftfluss für sauberes Schalten. Bei der Restauration sollten Druckflächen, Tellerfeder und Ausrückmechanismus auf Verschleiß oder Risse geprüft und nur passende 160-mm-Kupplungsscheiben verwendet werden. Eine sorgfältige Zentrierung und Kontrolle der Anlageflächen verhindert späteres Rupfen oder Rutschen der Kupplung.
