The used drive gear B7-02-0805 drives the oil pump in the BMW 700 engine and is therefore directly responsible for building up oil pressure. During an engine restoration, the gear must be carefully inspected for wear, pitting, and play, as a damaged drive gear can compromise oil delivery. Only a technically sound part should be reused in a rebuilt BMW 700 engine.
