The 0.5 mm oversize nose ring (Part No. B7-02-0441) is designed as a special piston ring for cylinders ground to oversize in the BMW 600 carburetor engine and ensures optimal combustion chamber sealing despite the enlarged bore. When restoring an engine with cylinders ground to 0.5 mm oversize, all piston rings, including the nose ring, must be selected in the appropriate oversize and installed with correct alignment. This significantly improves compression, oil consumption, and the durability of the rebuilt engine.
