The speedometer shaft core B6-08-07510 is the rotating inner mechanism of the speedometer shaft in the BMW 600 and transmits the rotational motion from the transmission to the speedometer. It is often replaced during restoration, as old shafts can cause inaccurate or jerky speed readings due to corrosion, wire breakage, or gummed-up lubrication. A properly greased and tension-free new shaft restores the reliable function of the original speedometer.
