The rubber-metal compound shim plate on the left (Part No. B6-07-193) is used in the BMW 600 for elastic mounting and vibration isolation of body sections or attached components. During restoration, brittle or cracked rubber components are replaced with new parts to reduce noise and vibration and restore the original mounting geometry. To ensure balanced handling, the left and right sides should always be inspected and replaced together.
