The spring housing B6-04-042 (shock absorber dome with tie rods, also B7-06-051) serves as the load-bearing mount for the spring and shock absorber in the BMW 600 and transfers wheel forces to the body. For a professional restoration, it is recommended to use a glass bead-blasted and electrogalvanized housing, which is then inspected for cracks and warping to permanently ensure the structural integrity of the chassis.
