The needle cage B6-03-049 supports the gears for 1st through 4th gears in the BMW 600 transmission via needle rollers with high load-bearing capacity and low friction torque. During restoration, worn needle cages and needles should be systematically replaced, as they can otherwise cause noise and damage to the shaft and gear raceways.
