The B6-01-0741 compression ring with a 1.0 mm oversize is used in BMW 600 engines whose cylinders have been ground to a larger oversize to eliminate severe wear marks. Despite the enlarged bore, it ensures a tight combustion chamber seal and maintains compression after a comprehensive engine overhaul. For a consistently good result, the cylinder dimensions, oversize piston, and ring gap must be precisely matched.
