The 4-104 wheel brake cylinder (B6-04-132) with a 12.7 mm piston diameter of the “Schäfer” type is designed for the rear axle of the BMW Isetta and transmits the hydraulic brake pressure directly to the brake shoes. During a brake restoration, old, corroded, or leaky cylinders should be systematically replaced with new parts like this one to prevent brake fluid loss and uneven braking performance. The outer rubber boot additionally protects the cylinder from dirt and moisture, thereby extending its service life in classic car use.
