The 3-043 (B6-04-051) cap, with a diameter of 40 mm, is typically used on the BMW Isetta front axle to protect wheel bearings or axle components from dirt and moisture and to keep the grease in the bearing housing. During restoration, dented, corroded, or loose caps must be replaced to prevent further damage to bearings and hubs. Careful, tension-free installation restores the sealing function and thus the original operational reliability of the front axle.
