The needle cage for the 4th gear (Part No. 2-045) supports the gear on the shaft in the BMW Isetta transmission with needle rollers, ensuring zero play and minimal wear. As part of a transmission overhaul, worn or corroded needle cages should be systematically replaced to prevent consequential damage to the gear and shaft during restoration.
