This piston pin 1-0549 (D 22 mm, L 59.9 mm) forms the articulated connection between the piston and connecting rod in the BMW Isetta engine and is therefore a key component in any engine restoration. During an overhaul, the piston and connecting rod eye should be checked for dimensional accuracy and combined only with flawless, non-worn piston pins. This reliably prevents noise, increased wear, and consequential damage in the freshly restored engine.
