The iron/felt shaft seal 58 x 70 x 8 mm (Part No. B7-06-069, also B6-04-0611) reliably seals rotating axle or hub components of the BMW 700 against oil or grease leakage. Felt seals in particular age, harden, and lose their sealing effectiveness, which in classic cars often leads to lubricant loss and contaminated brake drums. As part of a professional restoration, these shaft seals should always be replaced to restore the original function and sealing integrity of the axle assemblies.
