The spring plate (Ø 33.30/13.20 mm, thickness 5.2 mm, part no. B7-02-0679) serves in the BMW 700 engine to provide a flat, force-fit support and guide for a valve or control spring. During restoration, worn or corroded spring plates should be replaced with dimensionally accurate new parts to ensure uniform spring force and smooth valve operation. The special inner bore of 13.20 mm is crucial for a proper fit in the respective mounting.
