The spacer sleeve B6-05-062 located beneath the steering wheel of the BMW 600 ensures the correct axial clearance and proper guidance of the steering column. During restoration, a new spacer sleeve prevents play in the steering wheel, rattling noises, and consequential damage to the steering mechanism. Replacement is particularly recommended as part of a complete steering overhaul, especially if the original parts are worn out or corroded.
