The used spur gear for the camshaft (44 teeth, part no. B6-01-11995) is used in the BMW 600 engine for precise torque transmission between the crankshaft and camshaft. For restoration purposes, this glass bead-blasted but untested component should be inspected for tooth wear, cracks, and dimensional accuracy before installation. Only a flawless spur gear ensures correct timing and thus reliable engine operation.
