Product info
The chrome backing plate 6-687 is used on the BMW Isetta to provide an aesthetically pleasing and pressure-distributing mount for the BMW emblem and protects the paint from damage. In combination with the O-ring (B6-08-03998), it creates an elastic seal that prevents moisture ingress and corrosion under the emblem. During restoration, chrome-plated backing plates with cracks or signs of rust should be systematically replaced to permanently preserve the appearance and integrity of the body.
